Supporting the development of renewable energies
Mersen provides solutions for leading manufacturers in the solar, wind and hydroelectric power industries as well as the energy storage industry.
Its solutions cover each stage of the solar cell production process from electrical protection for panels to the conversion and distribution of the energy produced.
Mersen is also a leading supplier to the wind power industry, for conversion and distribution equipment and wind farm safety and security solutions.
Mersen is recognized also for its comprehensive suite of electrical protection components as well as engineered solutions for optimized connections, cooling and filtering of Battery Energy Storage System.
Improving electrical power distribution
Electricity from renewable sources, which is produced as alternating current, must be converted into direct current in order to be transported via high-voltage lines to the local grid, before being converted back into alternating current to supply the power grid.
Mersen provides highly reliable solutions for the transmission and distribution of electricity. This includes cooling devices and fuses to protect the power modules integrated into the conversion stations, as well as busbars connecting the conversion elements.
This also applies to electrical infrastructure and energy storage.
Improving Power Grid quality
Power quality is a critical factor in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of modern electrical networks. As grids become more complex—driven by the rapid growth of renewable energy sources, data centers, electrified transportation, and sensitive electronic equipment—issues such as voltage fluctuations, harmonics, short circuits, and transient disturbances can have significant operational and financial consequences.
Mersen’s solutions help achieve a more stable electrical network, extend equipment lifespan, and reduce costs associated with unplanned downtime.
Supporting the development of green transportation
Mersen stands at the forefront of electric mobility, be it railway or electric vehicles.
Mersen's railway equipment is designed to cater to a diverse range of railway systems, from high-speed trains to urban transit systems. Each type of railway has unique requirements, and Mersen' solutions are tailored to meet these specific needs.
Mersen also offers a wide range of products and solutions covering all aspects of on-board and off-board safety and power management for electric vehicles.
Optimizing semi-conductors performance
Mersen is renowned the world over for the quality of its ultra-pure graphite equipment and insulation solutions for the process of semiconductor manufacturing whether based on Silicon or on Silicon Carbide.
Silicon Carbide semiconductors play a key role in the performance and efficiency of electric vehicles. Compared to traditional silicon, SiC enables higher switching speeds, lower energy losses, and operation at higher.
