Mersen is pleased to announce that its plant at Juarez, Mexico is now officially certified according to the automotive-specific quality management standard IATF 16949 for the Design and Manufacturing of Electrical Protection Fuses.
IATF 16949 emphasizes the development of a process-oriented quality management system that provides for continual improvement, defect prevention and reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. The goal is to meet customer requirements efficiently and effectively.
For Mersen, this successful transition audit and the associated maintenance of the IATF 16949 certification conclude several months of adaptation to strengthen the process-oriented approach of quality management. It comes after the certification of the Angers site in June 2020 for laminated busbars.
Luc Themelin, Chief Executive Officer of Mersen, said: “This certification, after that of the Angers site, demonstrates how Mersen has positioned itself as a competent and reliable partner to the automotive industry. It demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards and ensures our customers can rely on delivery of high-quality products.”
