Capacitors for Flash Applications

In flash applications – such as professional flash devices in photo studios or radar traps – capacitors discharge very quickly. High switching capacity, high power density and optimal current-carrying capacity are therefore very important. The capacitors also have to be temperature-stable, since the devices are constantly subjected to changing temperatures. We offer photo flash capacitors in a fully welded version, which minimises contact resistance, therefore ensuring long-term stability.

Another important application concerns the intense pulsed light ( IPL) hair removal solutions.
The development engineers made major contributions to the development of stationary devices for hair removal. Professional IPL devices contain large electrolytic capacitors with threaded connections that can generate up to 14 million flashes. Extremely high power density and high discharge currents are crucial for the success of the end device.
