Description
The successful Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be responsible for driving overall continuous Quality Improvement with Mechanical/Electrical component suppliers and manufacturing locations.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a voice of the Electrical Vehicle (EV) Product Quality to ensure the necessary supplier quality measures for the supplied material are identified, noted and done with respect to all requirements. In the case of deviations, make sure appropriate corrective actions are taken and documented
- Acts as a voice of the customer. Ensure the necessary quality and safety measures for the project are identified, noted and executed with respect to all requirements. In the case of deviations, make sure appropriate corrective actions are taken
- Disciplinary independent of the project manager as an independent assessor of project status and risk
- Audit, review and improve manufacturing quality control programs
- Regular supplier visits
- Assure problem resolution in a timely manner for component or material quality issues impacting production lines and external customers
- Interact with all internal departments (engineering, program management, operations, purchasing, manufacturing) and be accountable for results
- Review supplier design engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality documentation, which may include 8D’s, for compliance to Continental and customer requirements
- Main emphasis of the position is quality assurance and improvement activities supporting new product launch design and manufacturing teams
- Be able to frequently travel locally and internationally. In some cases, with a short notice
Candidate profile
Degree in Engineering
5-7 years of experience in a Quality focused role
Must be experienced working directly with Customers
Must have strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment and interface with customers
Proven skills in addressing complex and diverse issues
Fluent French and English
